The Role at a Glance:

As the AVP of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will provide leadership, direction, and functional expertise to ensure departmental results for your assigned area(s) of responsibility. In this position, you will contribute to the development of Financial Analysis departmental strategy and ensure that financial information is delivered in a clear, concise, and actionable way.

What you'll be doing:

  • Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assessing the impact, and collaborating with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.

  • Providing training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and giving honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.

  • Directing, establishing, and implementing priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure departmental results

  • Directing and evaluating departmental performance and taking appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction to continually improve capability and results.

  • Directing/executing approved strategy decisions and contributing to strategy creation.

  • Contributing to the strategy development for financial trends, issues, and/or concerns.

  • Anticipating and proactively providing strategies/solutions to complex financial problems or trends.

  • Providing direction on complex financial analysis activities & processes, including directing the development of sufficient, accurate & reliable complex financial information to support data driven decision making.

  • Developing and implementing financial analysis policies and procedures.

  • Analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on complex financial information.

  • Ensuring that top talent is hired and retained.

  • Directing a team that provides financial analysis support and complex reporting for management

  • Directing the complex research, analysis, recommendation, and implementation of complex financial analytics for the financial analysis team.

  • Advising and providing subject matter expertise to management and applicable stakeholders on key financial analytics and identified trends.

  • Directing the complex analysis and validation of financial data to ensure information is sufficient, compliant, accurate and reliable.

  • Identifying, recommending, and implementing opportunities to make the complex financial analysis processes more efficient and achieve balance of timeliness and precision.

  • Directing and/or participating in departmental or enterprise wide complex projects assigned by providing stakeholders with actionable and valuable complex financial information to enable decision-making that results in successful outcomes.

  • Providing complex financial analyses for assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Directing and ensuring a thorough evaluation of complex financial metrics and analysis while carefully following processes to achieve efficiency.

  • Developing and/or managing budget/expenses for assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Carrying out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complying with all company and site policies and procedures.

  • Performing other duties as required.

What we're looking for:

  • 10+ Years of experience in financial analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

  • Confident, comfortable communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate knowledgeably and credibly with senior management and internal constituents.

  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.

  • Ability to think critically, analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully hire, retain, develop and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.

  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
